    Transfer to the Kathmandu airport from where the Air China flight (CA 408) will take off at 1210hrs/ (Nepal Standard Time). The flight duration for Kathmandu / Lhasa is 1 hour & 10 minutes reaches at 1550(Lhasa Time). Take picturesque photograph of the icy peaks of the Himalayas from air while flying to Lhasa. During the flight (weather permitting) you will see the Yarlung Tsangpo river (Brahmaputra), Yamdrok-tso Lake, Mt Kanchenjunga (8586m),  Mt Makalu (8463m) and Mt Everest (8848m).  Upon touch down at the Gonggar Airport in Lhasa at 15:55 (Beijing Standard Time) some immigration formalities and drive for approx. 01 hr to holy city of Lhasa. Assistance for check in to the hotel then you can have complete rest for acclimatization.

    After breakfast, you are going to visit the Drepung Monastery, located in the west suburb of the city. It is one of the ‘Three Great Monasteries’ and the largest one in Tibetan Buddhism. Looking from a distance, the monastery is like a heap of rice, consisting of a group of white buildings layer upon layer.

    Then we visit the nearby Norbulingka the most beautiful and largest man-made park in Tibet. This park has been built for 200 years and used to be the Summer Palace of religious leaders of the region. Later drive to Sera Monastery which is the second largest monastery in Tibet.  Here you can absorb the interesting debating of Buddhist doctrines among lamas.

    Your exciting excursion to the splendid Potala Palace is schedule in the morning. Originally built in the 7th century as a winter Palace of Dalai Lama this is the greatest monumental structure in all of Tibet.  It symbolizes Tibetan Buddhism and its central role in the traditional administration of Tibet. Currently, it is the largest treasure house of this mysterious land, attracting a great number of travelers and pilgrims every day. UNESCO has declared it as the New Seven Wonders Of The World.

    After lunch, our tour will take us to the Jokhang Temple which is located in the city center. Constructed in the 7th century, it is one of the most spiritual temples in Tibet. It attracts crowds of prostrating pilgrims from all over Tibet. This temple has the best architectural combination of Tibet, Han, Nepal and India. Around the temple, it is the thriving bazaar of the Bharkhor Street which assembles a large number of pilgrims, travelers, businessmen and expats. Today’s exciting journey will come to the end after visiting the Tibetan Traditional Medicine Hospital.

    Following Friendship Highway, you drive past Khamba La at 4794 meter with a brief halt to admire the scenic views of Yamdrok-tso Lake and Nazin Kang Sa standing proud at 7252m. On turning westwards, you come across another Karo La pass at 5045m. If you glance at the road, you can see huge glaciers tumbling down into the road. After hours of driving for 261 km, beautifully landscaped Tibetan villages become visible as you enter the town of Gyantse.

    Morning, visit Kumbum Monastery, the only Nepalese styled stupa in whole of Tibet.  It literally means “hundred thousand images of Buddha” and stands at 34 m high. The mural and wall paintings are the wonders of the stupa that mostly date back to its original time.  From the top, you can have a beautiful view of the old part of the town in the shadow of the fort.

    Then we also visit Palkor Choede monastery which was started in the 14th century by the 1st Panchen Lama and local chieftain Kusang Rabten. The monastery is prominent with the main image of present Buddha, sitting right at the center of the inner temple attached to assembly hall.

    After, we drive to Shigatse the second largest town in Tibet and the traditional capital of Tsang. Here we will visit the famous Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lama who is the 2nd in the Buddhist religious hierarchy.  The monastery is Shigatse’s foremost attraction. Founded in 1447 by His Holiness the 01st Dalai Lama, Gyalwa Gendum Drup this is one of the four great monasteries of Central Tibet.  It is supervised and looked after by the Dalai Lamas and Panchen Lamas of the Gelugpa, or Yellow Hat Tradition. It has the glory of producing thousands of renowned scholars in the field of Mahayana Buddhist Philosophy and Tantra.

    Continue our journey to Xegar  by crossing some of the high passes (Tsoula Pass – 4,500m, Gyatso La 5,200 m ) – on the way you can see beautiful landscapes with great views of the mountains (weather permitting).  Overnight in the hotel.

    We head off the main overland route and the road rise steeply up the foothills of the Himalayas via Pangla Pass to arrive at Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery situated at 5,050 m, just below the Rongbuk glacier. Check in at the guest house.  After have lunch then get a eco bus or pony cart to the base camp(5,200 m)  of one of the highest mountain of the world. The astonishing snow mountain and changeful cloud will be in your touch. During the sunset the mountains looks beautiful with changing of colors. Then retreat back to Rongbuk Monastery and explore.  The monastery is small in size, but it has many colorful and lively murals.

    After getting the morning view of the mighty Everest we pack up and drive to the newly opened border between Nepal and China.
