    About Annapurna Base Camp Trek

Annapurna Base Camp trek is another classic trek in the foothills of the Annapurna Region. It is short, beautiful, and intense and takes you straight into the amphitheater of huge Himalayan peaks. This zone is the sacred land of the native Gurung people, the abode of their gods.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek is only moderately challenging. It can be done via different routes and time frame. The trek is particularly ideal for those who want quick access to Himalayan peaks without the headache of flights trauma and altitude sickness like in the Everest trek.

The trek to Annapurna Base Camp passes through variety of terrain from lowland villages, rice terraces to glacial moraine and provides a spectacular high mountain view.  The trek also allows you to interact with local people, learn a bit of their culture.  This region is mostly dominated by Gurung and Magar tribes who are involved in agriculture and farming. Annapurna Base Camp is surrounded by peaks like Annapurna, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhare and Hiunchuli.

Ours 10 days Annapurna Base camp trek also includes an hour climb to Poon Hill (3,210 m) to watch the sun rise over the unobstructed Himalaya. The spectacular panorama stretches from Dhaulagiri I (8,167m) and Tukuche to Niligri (6,940m), Annapurna South, Annapurna I (8,091m), Hincchuli (6,441 m) and Tarke Kang (7,193m). The view is spectacular and a high light of the trip. (weather permitting) Also the good thing about adding this loop is for acclimatization before approaching the higher elevation.

Not to discourage travelers from coming here during other times of the year, but the Annapurna Base Camp trek is even more serendipitous during spring; the forests along the trail come alive with colors.

In case if this is what you are looking for your adventure in the Himalayas feel free to contact us for further information.
