About Nar with upper Mustang via Teri La pass

If the Lost Kingdom of Nar and the Forbidden Kingdom of Mustang sound like mythical places to you, we have got news for you. Now an ancient salt trade route has been opened connecting these two great mystical places. It’s a weeklong walk through wild, uninhabited area and crossing the high Teri La Pass (5,560).

The gorgeous valleys with fortified Tibetan Villages of Nar to arid and dry Upper Mustang is perfect for those who want to experience the off beaten trails, have some insights of Tibetan culture and having great views of the Himalayas.

This trail starts from the eastern part of Annapurna to Nar Village then traverse through high and wild trail across the remote Damodar Himal to the ancient Kingdom of Mustang where the topography is distinct from some of the other trails that Nepal has to offer. Colorful rock formations, with caves high up in the cliffs, make this kind of scenery very exotic. Authentic Tibetan communities inhabit these valleys. The journey culminates in Lo Manthang, the capital of the Forbidden Kingdom.

Once upon a time, the district of Mustang was a part of the Tibetan empire. Sheltered from hyper-commercialized forms of tourism, it is known as the last bastion of authentic Tibetan culture. The trek through this region therefore involves uncovering the hidden mysteries of this ancient world.
