    About Jungle Safari

    Upon arrival, welcome drink is served and there will be a short briefing on the program and our facilities, rooms will be assigned. At 1:00 O’clock Lunch is served 3:00 PM: Elephant-back safari: Short drive for about 5 minutes from the resort for a ride on elephant to explore the jungle and wildlife, the one-horned rhinoceros, several types of deer, monkeys, wild boar, bison, sloth bear, leopard and, if lucky, the Royal Bengal tiger. This exciting ride lasts for 2-2½ hours. 7:00 PM: Slide presentation. One of our jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome. OR Tharu Cultural Dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances. 8:00 PM: Dinner at the central dining hall.

    Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee then proceed for Bird watching/Nature walk. Out of 544 species of the birds we have recorded 276 species in our area. Hence, the area around Barahi Jungle Lodge is considered a Paradise for bird watchers. Our guides will help you to identify some of the species of these birds. The Bird watching program will be about 1½ to 2 hours. 8:30 AM: Breakfast at the resort. 9:30 AM: Elephant briefing/Bathing program: Learn more about these fascinating animals during a visit to our elephant stables followed by Elephant Bathing in the River. (Note: Elephant bathing is done during summer season as elephant loves to bath in the river willingly. Elephants are not forced to take bath during the cold season/day). 1:00 PM: Lunch at the dining hall or outside around pool area.

    2:30 PM: Jeep Safari/Boating (subject to weather conditions & water level in the river):

    Proceed for the Jeep Safari crossing the Rapti River by Patela Boat to start with. After crossing the Rapti River start the excursion on a jeep for Jeep safari (Jungle Drive) which begins from the open grassland area followed by the mix (riverrine) forest which continues inside the dense Sal Forest crossing the Reu River inside the Park to see different wildlife around Tiger Tops Jungle Lodge surroundings area and oxbow lakes (Devi Tal, Munda Tal, Lamo Tal, Kamal Tal) to view different wildlife, Aquatic birds and the Marsh Muggers. After the drive come down to Khoria Mohan at the bank of Narayani River and view Gharials (Fresh Water Alligator) basking in the sun by the river banks. Then after this short breathtaking break continue the drive and come around Bhimle check post area and view the wildlife from Bhimle Machan (wooden platform) in the surrounding areas and end the drive by the Rapti River Bank. This whole drive will be around 2½ -3 hours. After the drive come down to the Rapti River and start boating in a traditional patela boat for about 45 minutes which takes you on a silent trip down the Rapti River to view aquatic birds, crocodiles, Gharials and the animals of the river banks. After Boating walk back to the resort. Note: For those not interested to walk, there is a provision for vehicle to drive back to the resort. (Note: Jeep Safari is prohibited during monsoon season by the park authorities from June-September and in some season it can prolong till October) 7:00 PM: Tharu Cultural dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances. OR Slide presentation. One of our jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Chitwan National Park as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome. 8:00 PM: Dinner in the central dining hall or outside around pool area.

     

    Wake-up call followed by tea or coffee and then proceed for a short walk for the Village Visit. Our naturalist will brief you about the social and cultural aspect of the villagers and their lifestyle. After the visit ride on a bullock cart and come back to the resort. 8.00

    AM: Breakfast at the resort. 9.30 AM:

    Departure to your following destination.
