You will be warmly greeted by our representative at the TIA (Tribhuwan International Airport) in Kathmandu upon your arrival. After escorting to your designated hotel in the city you’ll be assisted in checking into your room. Before checking in, the timing and location for a short briefing session concerning your trip will be arranged.

Early breakfast then drive 45 m to Godavari from where we start hiking to Phulchowki famous for birders. Situated 18 km southeast of Kathmandu with an elevation of 2,760 m, Pulchowki is the highest mountain encircling Kathmandu valley. With broad-leafed-sub tropical forest it is the ideal habitat for birds. Regularly found species of birds include Besra, Black Eagle, Mountain Hawk-Eagle, Kalij Pheasant, Striated Laughing thrush, Asian Barred Owlet, Greater and Lesser Yellow nape, Ashy Woodpigeon, Wedge-tailed Green Pigeon, Mountain Scops Owl, Collared Owlet, Golden-throated Barbet, Speckled Piculet, Crimson-breasted Pied and Rufous-bellied Pied Woodpeckers, and Minivets among others. More than 50 species of migratory birds have recorded to visit the place as the seasonal visitors
After return back to your hotel enroute visit Patan City to experience the ancient places, temples, and shrines noted for their exquisite carvings. The former Royal Palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life and houses a museum containing an array of bronze statues and religious objects.

After breakfast we take a short 30 minute flight to Pokhara, the valley famous for its tranquil atmosphere and the magnificence Mt. Machappuchare rising in the back drop. If the weather permits you can have great views of the central Himalayas. After arrival at the airport we drive to Tiger Mountain Lodge Pokhara. Perched 1,000 feet above the Pokhara Valley with a spectacular Himalayan backdrop, Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge provides a perfect haven, the essence of tranquility. Ideal for guests pre- and post-trek, or for those wishing to take day walks exploring local communities, bird-watching, gentle exercise, or just to relax in a typical Nepalese rural setting.
SHORT FOREST & VILLAGE WALKS (5 hrs walk) : To get a taste of what’s on offer, why not start with a short, guided walk around the lodge’s immediate vicinity. There are many trails utilized by the local residents, which lead through the villages, passing fields of millet, mustard, potatoes, and other crops, depending on the season. There are many different species of plants, some used for medicinal purposes, which will be pointed out by our experienced guides. There is also an abundance of birds. Specialist bird-watching walks can easily be arranged for keen birders. We can also provide a checklist of birds and butterflies for the area. Field guides are available from the Col. Jimmy’s Library. Please let the guide know your interests and how long you wish to walk; he can then design a walk to suit you.
Overnight at the Hotel.
Morning drive to Begnas Lake, 15 km away from Pokhara City, another adequate place to visit for bird watching in Pokhara. Terraced hills and mild forests surround the lake. Birds’ spotted here are Grey bellied Tesias, Hoopoe, Pheasant-tailed Jacana, common pintail snipe, bulbuls etc. Species regularly seen in this forest and along the shore of the lake include Red-headed and Eurasian Black Vultures, Red-thighed Falconet, Besra, Pallid and Pied Harriers, Eurasian Griffon, Kalij Pheasant etc. Then after explore Pokhara city and then return back to the lodge for an overnight stay.
Drive to the airport to take a short flight to Bharatpur the gateway to Chitwan National Park. After reaching Bharatpur airport we drive through rustic roads to buffer zone of Chitwan National Park where most of the resorts are situated. On the way you can see the Tharu villages, here the life, culture are different then the hilly tourist spots of Nepal.
Upon reaching the respective resorts, you will be welcome with welcome drinks, there will be orientation of the programs and jungle then the room will be assigned. Later have lunch then start your jungle activities with a short village and nature walk to get familiarized with the area. During the walk one can observe the Tharu people lifestyle who are the indigenous tribe of the low lands Terai, many common myna birds are seen along with house sparrow, crows, 3 types of black drongo birds found plenty around the villages. After an enjoyable walk and gathering insight of the Tharu Village and life style knowledgeable we retreat back to our lodge for the night program which includes Tharu folk dance or slide show of the jungle ending with dinner.

Early morning go for bird watching trip around the National Park then have breakfast. More than 70% of the land in the park is covered by the wild grass and a river. The place is an inland for many endangered species like one-horned rhino and royal Bengal tiger. 543 species of birds have been spotted within the park. The huge park covering 932 sq. km is the home of Nepal’s two third globally threatened species of birds. Apart, from the regular habitats several endangered species of birds visit the park during spring and autumn. Flocks of Common and Demoiselle Cranes appear here during March and May and October/November. This site is an important habitats for the critically endangered Bengal Florican, the Vulnerable lesser Adjutant, Grey-crowned Prinia and Swamp Fran Colin. The park is a breeding sites of the globally threatened spotted eagle. Along the marshlands and small ponds you may spot Cormorants, Asian Open bill, Darter, Cinnamon Bittern, Lesser Whistling Duck, Bronze-winged Jacana, Cotton Pygmy Goose, Black-crowned Night and Purple Herons, Balloons Ruddy-breasted and Brown Crakes, Purple Gallinule, Black Chinned Yuhina, Gould’s Sunbird, Blossom-headed parakeet, Slaty breasted Rail etc. After, the long tiring day of attempting to spot different species of birds you will enjoy the hospitality at the Lodge within the park.
After an enjoyable and interesting afternoon activities evening with entertainment either local Tharu Folk dance or Slide Show of the Chitwan and wildlife followed by dinner.
As a day is not enough for bird watching, so today our program leads further into deeper side of the National Park forested area around Bees Hajari and Lama Tal, a swamp small lake and a pond with marsh land, where one can observe more water birds and fishing and serpent eagles, chance of seeing Open Billed Storks, Fulvous whistling-duck, Ruddy Shelduck also known as Bhramini, Mandarin duck, Eurasian teal, Mallard, Spot-billed duck, Northern pintail, Common porchards, Tufted duck, Common merganser, Darters (snake bird), Horn bill, swift, swallows, egrets, sand piper with fishing and serpent eagles and chances of seeing some marsh mugger crocodiles, these ponds is active with smaller species of turtles also.
Overnight at the resort
After breakfast we drive to Koshi Tappu which is the south east of Nepal and takes around around 8 hrs. which is protected area in the Terai of eastern Nepal covering 175 km2 (68 sq. mi) of wetlands in the Sunsari, Saptari and Udayapur Districts. Koshi Tappu has better sightings of an incredible variety of both resident and migratory birds that come from as far away as Siberia. Overnight at the Resort.
Today we will wake up in the morning and go for a nature walk in the close by neighborhood. Then after have breakfast, then go on a boating on the Sapta Koshi River with naturalist to observe water birds, water buffaloes, dolphins and various water habitats. We end our boating trip with the picnic lunch. Then after short drive to Koshi Barrage to view the bird life and fresh water dolphins. Koshi Tappu is the home for more than 485 species of birds including Water-cock, Indian nightjar, Dusky Eagle-owl, Black headed cuckoo shrike, White tailed stone chat, Nepal refous vented prinia, common golden eye, Gull billed tern and critically endangered species like Bengal florican. After whole day strolling we will return back to the resort for an overnight stay.
Morning again some bird watching trip have breakfast and then drive 01 hour to Biratnagar airport for flight to Kathmandu which takes around 40m. Transfer to the hotel – check in and evening
As per the flight schedule we will transfer you to the Tribhuwan International airport for your flight back home.
